SSC Stenographer Vacancy Form Fees

The application fee of Rs. 100/- is to be paid by the General, EWS, and OBC candidates. There is no application fee for the SC, ST, and PWD candidates.

SSC Stenographer 2024 Qualification and Age Limit

SSC Grade C and D Stenographer Eligibility Criteria:

Age Criteria: The Age Limit for the SSC Stenographer Grade-C is 18-30 Years. The Age limit for the SSC Stenographer Grade-D is 18-27 Years. The crucial date for the calculation of the age limit is 1 August 2024. The age relaxation will be given as per the rules.

Education Qualification: The education qualification for the SSC Stenographer 2024 is the 12th Class (10+2) Pass. The candidates who will pass the written exam will be called for the Stenography Skill Test.

General Intelligence & Reasoning: It would include questions of both verbal
and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on analogies, similarities
and differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment,
decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship
concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical
number series, non-verbal series etc. The test will also include questions
designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and
symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical
functions.


General Awareness: Questions will be designed to test the ability of the
candidates‟ general awareness of the environment around him and its application
to society. Questions will also be designed to test the knowledge of current events
and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific
aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include
questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to
Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including
Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc. These questions will be such
that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

For VH candidates of 40% and above visual disability, there will be no
component of Maps/Graphs/Diagrams/Statistical Data in the General
Intelligence & Reasoning/ General Awareness Paper.


English Language & Comprehension: In addition to the testing of
candidates’ understanding of the English Language, its vocabulary, grammar,
sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc., his/ her
writing ability would also be tested

SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern

The CBT test consists of 200 objective-type questions: 50 on General Intelligence & Reasoning, 50 on General Awareness, and 100 on English Language & Comprehension. Candidates will have 2 hours to complete the test. Each question is worth one mark, and for every incorrect answer, one-third of a mark will be deducted.

SSC Stenographer 2024 Skill Test

Candidates who pass the CBT exam will be invited to take the Stenography Test. The format of the Stenography Test is as follows:

Candidates will receive a 10-minute dictation in either English or Hindi, depending on their choice in the application form. The dictation speed will be 100 words per minute for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 words per minute for Stenographer Grade ‘D’. The dictated content must then be transcribed on a computer.
